Special thanks to all of you who came out to our two Kent Williams events over the last weekend. On October 26th, Blanc Gallery hosted the opening of “Kent Williams: Afar,” a solo exhibit featuring paintings from Williams. And on Saturday, October the 27th, Williams answered questions live at the Fully Booked bookstore in Bonifacio High Street during the Book Signing and Artist’s Dialogue.

During a private time, we sat down with contemporary artist, Kent Williams (Hellblazer, Wolverine Havok Meltdown, Amalgum, Eklektikos) to pick his brain and discuss his work. Kent provided much insight about where his eastern/Asian influences originated and the autobiographic nature of his art, plus his thoughts about the creative industry today. Williams — being a teacher too — also had much to say to and about young, aspiring artists and the future of his personal artistic journey.

Watch that short documentary video here:

Part 1: Storytelling

Part 2: Advice to the Aspiring Artist

Part 3: Comics, the State of Art, and the Future

We shot this little film at Blanc Gallery at the Peninsula Manila. Thanks to Jay Amante, our gracious host, and all those involved in running Blanc.

You can also watch the entire Q & A segment of the Book Signing and Artist’s Dialogue on YouTube. For those of you who were not able to make it to the store to participate live, here’s the entire session for you to watch now. It’s quite long, so we provided an index of questions and topics here so that you can fast-forward to a specific part you’d like to hear.

Again, our sincerest thanks to all who came!

Signed copies of various copies of Kent William’s books are still available for you to pick up at the Fully Booked bookstores. Enjoy!
