2 & 3. Valiant Masters and Harbinger Wars

The roots of Valiant comics trace their way to former Marvel writers and editors. But we think that If you like DC, you might also like the Valiant Masters universe, which has, since the 1990s provided its fans with a rich cosmos of characters, empowering it to hold its own, and even rival biggies like DC for market share at times. These two offerings from Valiant this FCBD take you into the world of Ninjak, Shadowman, Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot and Harbinger. If you are new to the universe, consider these books your welcome cocktail. Availability: Fully Booked Fort branch only.

4. Aphrodite

A post-cataclysmic planet earth, a political struggle and genetically and technologically mutated earthlings? The FCBD website pegs Aphrodite as “Top Cow’s fan favorite, memory challenged, green haired, questionably human heroine.” In short, if you’re one of those ‘the weirder, the better’ types, this is for you. Availability: Fully Booked Fort branch only.

5. Atomic Robo

From the FCBD website: “Unanimously heralded by fans, creators, retailers and critics as the perfect first comic to give to a non-comic-reader. It’s a robotic experiment gone wrong, and only Atomic Robo’s brand of violent science can save the day.”

If you’re a fan of Transformers or mecha, line up at FCBD for Atomic Robo. If the comics community is right, you won’t find yourself disappointed. Availability: Fully Booked Fort branch only.
