The zombie apocalypse is upon us!
Not literally, of course. But more than ever, the world is well-acquainted with the creeping, flesh-eating ways of the undead. And ironically, that’s a good thing… isn’t it? Zombies make up a good chunk of social conversation nowadays, which always makes for fun cocktail discussion on a Friday night: ‘What would you prefer to encounter: a few running zombies or a horde of walkers?’ And it is far cooler than the ‘Are you a werewolf or a vampire?’ conversation, which is just so 2009. Heck, zombies even join fun runs now! Before long they’ll be doing Crossfit and comparing their WODs.
Suffice it to say, zombies have arrived.
That’s why we are so excited to announce that Charlie Adlard is coming to Manila this May 10-11, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday)!
Yes, you heard it right. Fully Booked will be hosting one of the most influential artists of the last few years in a series of book signing events at our Bonifacio High St. and Alabang branches—and we invite you to join the fun!
Now, a bit more about Mr. Adlard:
Born in 1966, Charlie Adlard hails from Shrewsbury in the U.K. and initially embarked on a filmmaking path in college, followed by a stint as a rock and roll drummer. But he eventually returned to drawing, his first love. And the rest is pretty much history: Together with American writer Robert Kirkman (Invincible, Ultimate X-Men, Marvel Zombies), they created one of the truly iconic modern literary brands in The Walking Dead.
TWD, more than a bloody scare fest—and it does that brilliantly—is an exploration of the human condition in the face of the most extreme situations. And in that combination lies its secret to massive success, as well as the compelling question of its narrative: when things go bad, who are you, really? Adlard and Kirkman’s The Walking Dead is now a global brand with an acclaimed series of comics and graphic novels, and a runaway hit television show on AMC that has kept millions around the world on the edges of their respective seats on a continuing basis.
And with that, we invite you, our Fully Booked friends to come us, for Charlie Adlard’s live events in Manila. For complete details, please visit our event page, and stay connected with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
See you there!
