It’s that time of year again, folks! FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2014 is coming at us this Saturday, and it’s coming fast. Over the next few days we’ll be talking about the different comics that you will be able to get, free of charge, no strings attached! Special tip: if you come by Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, you can get not just one, but three free comics! Just a little note: not all of these titles will be available at all Fully Booked branches.

Today’s sneak peek is for the young ones out there:

1. Kaboom! Summer Blast!

3

First on the list is Kaboom! Summer Blast! which was one of the most popular FCBD comics last year, especially among the kids. Its pages are crammed with new favorites like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, and Herobear & The Kid, but also classics like that silly beagle, Snoopy, and that lasagna loving cat, Garfield. If there’s one book that spells a good time for both young and old readers, it’s Kaboom!

2. Spongebob Freestyle Funnies 2014
6

The FCBD website gives us the downlow on the new Spongebob Comic, and it sounds like a massive laugh:

United Plankton’s all-new SpongeBob comic book for FCBD 2014 starts with “Relocate!”, in which we finally learn the answer to the age-old question: “What if Squidward, SpongeBob, and Patrick’s houses all became giant robot creatures and stomped around Bikini Bottom?”

Nothing but the finest nonsense in this one, for sure! What less can you expect to come out of Bikini Bottom?

3. The Smurfs

7

Say goodbye to your blues by saying hello to, well, the blues! We’re talking about everyone’s favorite tiny blue gnomes, The Smurfs! Possessing the uncanny ability to make you smile for over half a century running, it’s enough to make you break out in the communal singing of ‘La-la-lala-la-la, la-lala-la-la…’

4. Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck: A Matter of Some Gravity

1

Get ready for the quack attack with this Donald Duck and Scrooge comic! It’s a rare, classic mid-90s edition that was not released outside the USA until now. Definitely a treat for old and new Disney fans alike!

5. Scratch9

8

FreeComicBookDay.com has this to say about the new Scratch9 comic:

The world’s greatest superhero cat returns in this all-ages, all-cat, all-free funny-book featuring all-new stories! Scratch is an ordinary cat who can summon his nine lives to get himself and his pet posse out of a jam. This new edition is a direct lead-in to the summer’s monthly Scratch9 series: Cat of Nine Worlds! The fur starts flying here!

6. Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty

They say cats have nine lives; although this one has enjoyed a 40-year run, and it seems that she’s here for the long haul. Say hello to Hello Kitty! This comic features Perfect Square’s sneak peek into the iconic kitten’s 40-year anniversary tribute book, as well as other bonus content.
