Anjo Bolarda (@anjobolarda on instagram) calls himself a visual artist. Cutting his teeth as an illustrator and designer in the fashion sector, Anjo’s unique mash up of Japanese pop culture and western street art has been making waves in the art scene regionally in a way that’s allowed him to pursue art full-time. In a previous interview with Fully Booked, Anjo told us his favorite books. You’ll be surprised to find that they’re primarily motivational/business titles such as The Icarus Deception by Seth Godin and It’s Not How Good You Are But How Good You Want To Be by Paul Arden!

But getting back to art, we asked Anjo to pick out a Nuuna notebook and he selected this great design with a Pablo Picasso quote on the front. Now that he’s been using it a while, he told us that he found that the Nuuna’s paper held different kids of ink and paint well, without bleeding through to the next page. That allowed him to work with materials such as gouache.

So check out Anjo’s notebook in more detail below! And if you have time on August 27, 2014, you can visit his show at the new Vinyl on Vinyl.
