Hey, hey, hey–it’s Free Comic Book Day, coming very soon, on the 2nd of May!

And true to form, FCBD aims to welcome the young and curious into the comic-loving fold. So with that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of the free offerings for kids and young adults this weekend! Take note, availability of comics will differ from store to store. But the widest range of titles will be at our main store along Bonifacio High Street, BGC. Expert tip: show up early to get first dibs!

OK, are you ready for the list?

First up on the all-ages selection is a fast-moving title every year, Bongo Comics Free-for-All! Because who doesn’t love a trip to Springfield? Expect good ol’ Simpsons mayhem: Bart’s usual in-school antics, an ancient adventure with Lisa, and the fatherly foibles of the First Dad of D’oh, Homer!

Another Gold Book that we’re excited about is Bob’s Burgers!

“Bob’s Burgers, the hit TV show created by Loren Bouchard, is now a comic book! The Belcher family–parents Bob and Linda, and their children Tina, Gene, and Louise–appear in this special Free Comic Book Day edition that collects the ‘Best Of’ in-canon stories from Dynamite’s first-ever Bob’s Burgers comic book series…It’s an all-ages extravaganza that captures the feel of Bob’s Burgers perfectly – because it’s a comic 100% created by show writers and animators!” (Taken from freecomicbookday.com)

And you can expect more hits to come your way if you get your hands on Boom! Studios’ Ten Year Celebration with stories from Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, Mouse Guard, Peanuts, Garfield, and more! Did we mention that this is in full color, too? This one is worth making a bee-line for!

And these next two books are well-loved, modern-day kid classics that need no introduction: Pokemon (btw, this one reads from right to left!) and Spongebob Freestyle Funnies! The massive on-screen success of these two brands will ensure an easy entry for newbies into the wonderful world of comics!
