1. The Pulitzer Prize announces the winners of 2016.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners! Special shout-out to Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda for being the 9th musical to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. For the full list of winners, click here.

Congratulations as well to the Pulitzer Prize, for 100 years of showcasing excellence in journalism and the literary arts.

2. The Man Booker International Prize announces its 2016 shortlist.

Starting this year, the Man Booker International Prize will be awarded to a single work of fiction that’s translated into English and published in the UK, splitting the £50,000 prize equally between the author and the translator. It will also be awarded annually, instead of every two years. This year’s shortlist includes works from Angola to Italy to South Korea.

3. Sarah Kay & Phil Kaye Live in Manila

These spoken word favorites are coming back for a night of poetry and feelings. Catch them this May 7th at Villamor Hall, UP Diliman. Tickets are now on sale at Eventbrite.

4. TWO: Words Anonymous’ Second Anniversary Show

Local spoken word organization, Words Anonymous, takes the stage yet again as they turn two this year. Celebrate with them this Saturday, April 23rd, at the PETA Theater Center. Tickets are available at TicketWorld. For more details, visit their event page.
